Introduction: Diabetic foot represents one of the most frequent and severe complications of diabetes mellitus, with a high burden of peripheral vascular disease.
Objective: To determine the prevalence of vascular disease associated with infectious processes in diabetic foot.
Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional, observational study conducted at General Hospital Zone No. 20. Patients with diabetic foot and peripheral vascular disease were included.
Results: A prevalence of vascular insufficiency of 72.8% and infectious processes in 48.5% of cases was found.
Conclusions: There is a high prevalence of vascular insufficiency in patients with diabetic foot, with infections identified in early stages that allow for timely interventions.
