Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease affecting the lungs and other organs. The standard treatment involves anti-tubercular therapy (ATT); however, Ayurvedic approaches such as dietary and lifestyle modifications have gained interest. This case series presents four patients diagnosed with TB who adopted a combination of conventional and Ayurvedic treatment modalities, including allopathy, homeopathy, and DIP Diet-based therapy.
Case Presentation: Case 1: Krishna Pandit, a 25-year-old male, was diagnosed with TB and treated with ATT at Shree Krishna Nursing Home. Due to side effects, he switched to DIP Diet, Humming Therapy, and Ambali under Physician. He recovered 95% in 2.5 months.
Case 2: Guru Charan Kulamaria, a 47-year-old male, had TB relapses in 1996, 2018, and 2024. After discontinuing allopathic injections, he followed DIP Diet, Yoga, Humming Therapy, and Zero Volt Therapy. He showed 80% recovery in 1.5 months.
Case 3: Dola Gobinda Maharana, a 37-year-old male, suffered severe weight loss (78 kg to 68 kg). Initially treated with homeopathy (Belladonna, Tuberculin, Bacillinum), he later adopted the DIP Diet, Living Water Therapy, Sunlight Exposure, Humming Therapy, and HWI Therapy, achieving complete recovery in 15 days (ESR reduced from 28 to 13).
Case 4: Yourani Dewangan, a 30-year-old female, experienced severe weakness, fever, and chest pain. Diagnosed with TB at Govt. Medical College, Rajnandgaon, she initially received ATT but suffered side effects (vomiting, loose motions). She discontinued allopathy in November 2024 and switched to DIP Diet, Yoga, Deep Breathing, Humming Therapy, and Ambali. Within 10 days, she fully recovered, confirmed by sputum test (Negative in Dec 2024).
Investigations and Findings: Sputum Test: Positive (before therapy) → Negative (post-Ayurvedic treatment) in Cases 3 & 4. Chest X-ray/CT Scan: Confirmed TB lesions (Cases 1, 2, 3, and 4). ESR Reduction: Dola Gobinda Maharana (28 to 13), Yourani Dewangan (elevated to normal levels). Blood Test Abnormalities: Low hemoglobin (Yourani Dewangan: 7.1 g/dL), High WBC (Krishna Pandit: 14.89 x10⁹/L, Yourani Dewangan: 6049/mm³).
Discussion: Allopathic ATT remains the standard treatment, but side effects led some patients to seek Ayurvedic options. DIP Diet and Lifestyle Interventions significantly improved symptoms, lowered inflammation, and enhanced recovery rates. Homeopathy showed symptomatic relief but lacks strong clinical validation. ATT is essential for severe TB cases (Yourani Dewangan: CBNAAT-positive TB required initial ATT).
Conclusion: This case series highlights the potential benefits of dietary and lifestyle interventions in TB recovery. While three patients recovered fully without continued ATT, further clinical trials are necessary to validate the long-term efficacy of Ayurvedic approaches in TB treatment.
